Jake Cody Newest Team PokerStars ProWith the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure underway in the Bahamas, Jake Cody was announced as the newest member of the elite Team PokerStars.

Just before Day 1b of the PCA Main Event began, fellow Team PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu introduced Cody, welcoming the youngest Triple Crown winner to the roster of pros of the world’s top online poker site.

PokerStars always looks for young up-and-coming ambassadors for the game and I feel like we’ve found a gem, Negreanu said. He combines poker skill with a gentlemanly demeanour as is expected in a PokerStars Team Pro. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Jake Cody to the team.

Cody won the European Poker Tour in January, 2010 for $1,213,194, and followed that up with a victory at the World Poker Tour in London in August of the same year that netted $425,492. He completed the Triple Crown by winning the $25,000 WSOP Heads-Up Championship for $851,192 in May of 2011. His live tournament winnings are more than $3.1 million. On the virtual felt, Cody’s resume includes a payday of nearly $235,000 by besting the field in a $2,100 buy-in tournament at the 2011 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP).

It probably sounds quite silly but [Team PokerStars Pro] is literally a dream come true, Cody said to the PokerStars blog. I know it’s something that everyone says but it genuinely is. It’s something I’ve been working at for a while now. For it to actually happen… it’s awesome.

Cody began his online poker career with a $10 deposit and purportedly has not deposited since. He previously played online at PokerStars under the moniker of “in YOUR F4CE.” However, players looking for the young pro online will now find him under the screen name of “jakecody.”

Cody comes from Brimington, England, and was a PKR.com sponsored pro until November of last year. He joins a PokerStars pro roster that includes other UK pros such as Liv Boeree and Victoria Coren.

Jake is such great ambassador for poker in the UK – he’s a great player but he’s also a humble guy, Boeree said. He’s incredibly competitive, and is always striving to improve his game. With so many titles under his belt at such a young age, he’s going to have a very long and successful career ahead of him.
